Actually, for mts, if you're wearing caster set (wand and offhand ect) the Behemoths attack you. If you have martial gear (sword and shield ect) they just lay traps, and attack rarely.

yeah only hard parts in my opinion are pits (naturally),waste can be a bit tricky with the coldfires but not too much and lab cuz of lag almost died a couple of times and DID die once (rubberband ftl)

Now take it that I forgot to check if you RETAINED your armor in the quest and I know that your Health is set to 600 but what would happen if you used Lieutenant's Insignia???
Lieutenant's Insignia: "Reduce Hex Duration on you by 20%..."
Now I know it may not be a HUGE advantage, if it even worked at all. But other than using a Shield, using Rock Candy, etc. people have been looking for Any and ALL advantages just to manage to get through here.
|
My second Ideas is, although your health seems to be set at 600 and that people use Shields to do the quest, I am STILL wondering if a Shield with +60 Health while Hexed would trigger. If it did, it would be a Huge help.
Can anyone test these ideas? I am currently at work

I don't remember how much each shot was hitting for, but at one point I was getting shot at from 2-3 groups after following the "run past them" strategy you describe, and my health dropped to nothing very quickly - that is, I got killed trying to follow the directions you give here (which were described earlier in the thread). I was wearing AL 60 Necromancer armor, but I hadn't swapped to melee weapons. It's entirely possible there was lag involved, though - much like the aatxe hitting me from two bubbles away (and being out of range for all my skills).
It wasn't a big deal because I got past it fairly quickly, and the Bone Pits being nearly trivial kind of makes up for flubbing it, I guess.

a +30hp shield does not give any additional health so I would not believe a +60 while hexed would do anything

Same thing happened to me as well when running through mountains on 2 of my chars. Lost a huge chunk of health when I got hit and nearly got killed as a result. I found it rather odd considering I normally see them hit for around 27 (not sure exactly but it's a negligible amount) or so damage.

I thought about that also but since the +60 Health while Hexed mod has a triggering effect I thought it may trigger. I need someone to test with the Lieutenant Insignia and the +60 Health while Hexed on Shield please

Made yet another map of the UW for people who can't find their way. Hopefully, you should be able to find your way with this. I think it is reasonably accurate.

I don't think it would help anyway. Since there's no healing and no regeneration while hexed, you'd just lose the 60 health as soon as the hexes ran out and be right back where you started.

I haven't seen any conversation regarding the Mad King's visit(s) yet. Do (we) think that the visit event format will be different this year? I would have assumed that it would have stayed the same, but, it's easy to think that it will be a bit different now. It would seem a little odd for the Mad King to completely ignore what's going on in the UW when he visits. I suppose it could be covered simply by adding some text about it though, thanking us for our assistance and whatnot. If there really are two more quests in the chain and the third isn't added until tomorrow... well, unless the fourth is added with the third then the visits will start before the fourth is in. A 'rally the troops' type of event??

Done 5 completions now.
It really gets easier the more you do it.
Just finished photoshopping the route I take and priorities.
Haven't used any consumables on any trip.

Karuro -- that's the path I take, except I do your 5 and 6 first, then continue with your 1, 2, etc in order.
I've done it 12 times now, with no cons or boosts at all. The only dangers are rubber banding and being stupid in bone pits. There's a way to prevent pops in chaos plains -- if you know which mob they are tied to, get that mob friendly fairly far away.
And lastly, I don't know why Regina just doens't tell us which days these quests will be. She tells us what days they won't be, why not just let people play their holiday better -- it will help them be around friends and family better.

Since you can do the quests at any time until the end of the week, everyone can organise to accomodate both family and GW. She may not tell so that there's still an element of surprise for those that like that (doesn't make a difference for the others).

I start with your #4 and do the rest in your order (Bone Pits is my #2, and so on). I do agree that it gets easier the more times you do it. My first trip was roughly 50 minutes (really slow, overly cautious), whereas my last 2-3 trips were in about 25 minutes (I think my best was 24). Consumables would make this ridiculously easy, so if people are really struggling that much, I'd recommend the Essence and some rock candy.
Random thought - anyone know if the Lieutenant's insignia would work? I'm doubting it, but it could be another "help" for those struggling with the Bone Pits area.
